The experiment involved the assembly of engine with new components for the test run, calibration of various instrumentation, topping the engine crankcase with 3.2 Liters of experimental engine oil and running the engine for a period of 50 hours under severe conditions. After completing the test run, the engine is completely dismantled; the piston is checked for ring sticking. The oil consumption is also measured by draining the oil and weighing it.
