  In addition to training ashore in South Tyneside College. I completed twelve months on board training on two RO-PAX's vessels and three Platform Supply Vessels. Ship board training was structured around the MNTB training standards in which I had to complete the MNTB Training Workbook. Which has evidence of multiple training tasks which I have completed and demonstrated my competency. My workbook contains reports compiled throughout the duration my time on each vessel allowing me to demonstrate my skills and competencies of the various ship board operations.My sea service was completed on board the following vessels :• Stena Mersey, RO-PAX, 27510 GT, 1 Month 1 Day• Stena Lagan. RO-PAX, 27510 GT, 26 Days• UP Coral, PSV, 3601 GT, 5 Months 7 Days• UP Opal. PSV, 3601 GT, 2 Months 7 Days• UP Jade, PSV, 2917 GT, 2 Months 25 DaysBeing allowed to serve on different types of vessels allowed me the opportunity to gain experience in different aspects of commercial shipping. I was able to gain experience working in multi-cultural environments which greatly boosted my seamanship, communication, leadership and teamwork skills. Every vessel I acted under the OOW in which the OOW would entrust me with the responsibility of :• Maintaining a safe navigational watch• Cargo Operations• Passage Planning• Maintenance of Charts and Publications• Ballasting Operations• Handling of the vessel• Port entry including pilotage• Mooring and anchoring operations• Maintenance of the LSA & FFA equipmentHaving been allowed the opportunity to gain these experiences assisted me in developing my confidence and skills required to be a motivated and conscientious Deck Officer.
