I am currently the General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Ethics & Compliance Officer for the Paris, France-based Capgemini Group of Technology Consulting and Outsourcing Companies in Canada, where I established and, since 2001, have successfully managed Capgemini Canada’s legal department, including that of its Canadian corporate affiliates. Capgemini is a publicly traded, global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing, and local professional services. Capgemini Canada has offices in Toronto, Calgary, Montreal and Vancouver and boasts over 1,800 employees (both unionized and non-unionized). It is my role to oversee and attend to the legal and corporate affairs of all of Capgemini’s Canadian operations.I also serve on Capgemini’s Canadian Executive Team, Pension Committee, Insurance Committee and Labour Union Steering Committee, providing strategic and legal advice to senior executives and decision-makers both in Canada and globally. My close, daily interaction with Capgemini’s officers, executives, administrators and managers affords me the opportunity to combine my broad and in-depth knowledge of the law with sound guidance and best-practices regarding all aspects of Capgemini’s business. With over 20 years of legal experience, I actively attend to all of Capgemini’s legal and governance needs, including, preparing and negotiating contracts, overseeing dealings with industry partners and managing external counsel in a high-energy, deadline-driven environment. I am also the Ethics & Compliance Officer for Capgemini Canada and in 2014 successfully completed the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics course in E&C training, having been certified as an Compliance & Ethics Professional.I also serve as a contracting, outsourcing, licensing and information technology specialist to the entire Capgemini North America group, having acted as legal counsel on a number of very large and highly publicized Canadian and international projects.
