      - Carry out dissections of the Biomphalaria glabrata snail in order to study its nervous system and its role as host animal for parasitic worms of the genus Schistosoma- Utilize inmunohistochemistry and in-situ processes to analyze said dissections.- Conduct research on articles written about the disease called Schistosomiasis which is carried by previously mentioned worms and transferred onto humans via contact with infected snails.

      - Study the neurological disorder called Epilepsy by carrying out experiments and protocols with the Drosophila melanogaster fruit fly model. Specifically protocols that involve exposing the flies to mechanical stimulation and analyzing their behavior afterwards.- Present scientific articles related to seizure induction using the fruit fly animal model. - Prepared a research proposal for a project that was to be partially carried out in the duration of the program.- Conducted research for the project under the mentorship of Dr.Alfredo Ghezzi at the Department of Biology, University of Puerto Rico- Rio Piedras Campus.- Attended educational seminars and presented the research conducted, alongside my lab partners.
