      - Directed the Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Team in the development of a new Plug-in-Hybrid mid-size pickup truck project. Coordinated a team of engineers to run analytical models on ADAMS and CarSim, to ensure optimal vehicle dynamics performance. Facilitated meetings to discuss ride and handling as well as defining the chassis controls strategy (embedded control software) for regenerative braking strategy to maximize vehicle range and meet Green House Gas program targets. - Introduced the first OEM implementation of the Jounce Control Dampers (secondary shock for suspension bottoming protection), making the Colorado ZR2 Bison the most capable off-road truck in the‍ company’s history, honored with the Motor Trend Truck of the Year award in 2024. - Conducted media launch events for the MY23 GMC Canyon AT4-X and the MY24 Canyon AT4-X AEV, guiding over 40 journalists at each event through severe technical off-road trails. Led a media launch for the MY24 Colorado ZR2 Bison in Johnson Valley, where 40 journalists experienced high-speed off-road driving, boosting the company's reputation and market presence. - Developed and tuned the Vehicle Dynamics for mid-size trucks, including ride, handling, and steering tuning/calibration and tire development, to improve overall vehicle performance and driver experience. - Tuned and enhanced off-road mid-size trucks by developing position sensitive dampers with Multimatic, achieving high speed off-road capability (over 60 mph), and implementing unique steering calibrations for new 35-inch MT tires for improved off-road performance. - Performed steering calibrations that enable smooth operation with ADAS features to enhance the driving experience. - Established and executed the first Baja Mode steering calibration on GM trucks with a new disturbance feature to eliminate steering wheel‍ “kick”‍ while‍ driving‍ on‍ chatter‍ bumps,‍ both‍ on and off-road. Show less · Developed and integrated components and subsystems into mid-size trucks as a Noise and Vibration Performance Engineer to meet noise and vibration performance goals, enhancing overall vehicle quality and driver experience. · Responsible for the Tire Pass-by Noise certification of 4 mid-size trucks models with 6 different tires for North America, Korea and Middle East markets. Ensured compliance with noise regulations, a very critical regulatory item. · Implemented the first application of the Engine Sound Enhancement feature in a GM pickup truck by developing three distinct engine sound tunings (Chevy, GMC, and ZR2 Baja), which led to a reduction in customer complaints regarding the new in-line 4-cylinder engine sound. · Reduced noise and vibration warranty claims by at least 50% by addressing and resolving issues related to spare tire shake, steering shaft rattle, and shifter cable rattle, resulting in increased vehicle reliability. Show less · Defined requirements, designed, analyzed, developed, and controlled complex suspension subsystems (coil spring, isolators, shocks, top mount, jounce bumper, alignment, and trim height) to enhance vehicle performance and meet vehicle program imperatives for mid-size trucks, full-size vans, and battery-electric truck architectures. · Implemented‍ “zero”‍ prototype‍ tooling‍ for‍ GM‍ suspension‍ parts,‍ saving‍ hundreds‍ of‍ thousands‍ in‍ tooling‍ costs‍ with out‍ post design changes. · Organized chief engineer technical design reviews, escalation meetings with senior management, and weekly supplier meetings to balance the sourcing of mid-size trucks suspension systems. · Developed a methodology for calculating suspension travel to achieve vehicle wheel travel targets, considering system compliances, thereby eliminating all post-release costs associated with suspension travel issues. · I conducted studies and recommended cost optimization changes to processes and products. This led to the release of two midsize truck suspensions sharing chassis hardpoints and other parts, resulting in a more profitable program without compromising performance. · Cut physical testing and validation costs by boosting the use of analytical tools (finite element, modal, virtual builds) and applying DFMEA and PFMEA for seamless component delivery and thorough subsystem validation. · Reduced chassis warranty by 50% on mid-size trucks addressing emerging issues related to leaking shocks and vehicle alignment, thereby improving product quality and customer satisfaction. Show less · Contributed to the development of a Global Emerging Market Architecture (including several body styles in the Small and Compact vehicle segments) within Joint Venture with PATAC - China, enhancing global vehicle design collaboration and innovation. · Led the development of a Front Module for Global Emerging Market Modular Architecture, resulting in the production of 4 new vehicles in China and 4 new vehicles in Brazil, which became best-selling vehicles for several years. · Led a 30-member work group meeting to resolve packaging issues by creating alternative solutions for interferences, space violations, and function violations, using trade matrices to study alternatives while considering cost, mass, timing, performance, design for assembly, dimensional variation, and other program imperatives to ensure optimal design. · Integrated and ensured alignment between departmental objectives and project goals during Front Module and Compartment Integration Team meetings by efficiently managing powertrain, chassis, body, electrical, exterior, and HVAC engineering parts to achieve necessary packaging space and function performance. · Reported project status, performed meeting agendas, published minutes, documented open issues, statuses, and due dates, and conducted peer reviews and lessons learned to maintain project transparency and progress. · Facilitated a global forum for product and process development aligned with Global Vehicle Set Strategies to boost parts re-use and scale, resulting in more profitable products. Show less · Led a 20-member team to integrate Front and Lower Compartment Vehicle Architecture, ensuring cohesive design and performance across Studio Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing Teams. · Created powertrain integration and underhood package layouts for various vehicles, standardizing locations and sharing parts to enhance space utilization and functionality, which improved the efficiency of vehicle architecture. · Coordinated cross-functional planning and resolved issues between North America, China, and Germany Tech Centers in Module Integration Team Meetings to find the best enterprise cost solutions consistent with Global Vehicle Set Strategy. · Acted as Subject Matter Expert for Emerging Market Groundlines, creating vehicle groundlines and tire envelopes, ensuring vehicle architecture compliance with regional requirements and standards for several different regions around the world. · Led and coordinated cross-functional team meetings to the development of a Global Small Car project, Joint Venture with Peugeot and Citroen, sharing concepts and parts to reduce overall vehicle development cost and increase profitability. Show less · Engineered and integrated Air Induction Systems, Exhaust System, Driveline (Half-shafts), and Driver Interface (Accelerator, Brake, and Clutch pedals) to meet vehicle program specifications. · Contributed to the development of Emerging Market Small and Compact Vehicle Architecture, and the Global Mid-Size Truck Architecture, enhancing vehicle designs to‍ meet‍ customers’‍ expectations. · Conducted Engine Motion Analysis using virtual engine rolling tool simulations to optimize the underhood package ensuring optimal design and function reducing warranty and field issues.
