Show less The environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) engineer assists with managing day-to-day and some long-term activities for the mill’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), air compliance program, solid & hazardous waste programs, potable water system, chemicals in transportation program, & landfill operation. This position is responsible for providing support in maintaining safety management systems in order to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses and to maintain compliance with U.S. H&S regulations.This position interacts with department H&S coordinators, occupational health services, & fire/emergency responders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide regulatory guidance to mill operations, maintenance, & management on a day-to-day or as needed basis.2. Drive continuous & deliberate improvements including systems development to ensure environmental compliance & prevent problems3. Ensure completion of required compliance reports for waste water, solid waste, air potable water & chemical management4. Support operating teams navigating regulatory concerns, provide necessary compliance training to salaried & hourly teams5.
