      In January 2015 my job role expanded which meant that in addition to the roles and responsibilities as Community Fundraiser at St Cuthbert's Hospice, I became responsible for organising a number of large and small scale events within County Durham. In November 2015, I organised the Hospice's first ever Family Fireworks Night which attracted 3,500 people and generated £15,000. The event proved hugely successful and as such was repeated in 2016 and generated over £20,000. This event continues to be an annual event which is favoured by many.Other events that I was responsible for included: • A Christmas Wreath Making Demonstration• Colourama (A 5k sponsored fun fun with obstacles and powder paint)• Ladies Lunch • Open Air Cinema• Paws for a Cause (A sponsored Dog Walk)• Strictly Come Dancing The Community Fundraising initiatives that I was responsible for included:• School Accumulator Challenge• Christmas Jumper Day Show less My career in the third sector began with me taking up the role of Community Fundraiser at St Cuthbert's Hospice. The key aspects of my role included:• Providing support, encouragement and advice to individuals and groups who are fundraising in aid of the Hospice and engaging new supporters. • Organising and managing sponsored events such as the Great North Run.• Organising a Christmas and Summer Fair each year to engage the local community and raise income.• Delivering key campaigns such as March Coffee Mornings and Open Gardens and Santa Fun Run. • Devising and implementing additional community campaigns and developing appropriate marketing techniques to maximise participation income.• Recruiting and managing volunteers, including developing new and existing fundraising groups. • Initiating and developing charity of the year partnerships, and building relationships with local businesses across County Durham.• Coordinating street and supermarket collections in aid of the Hospice using voluntary resources wherever possible and according to UK legislation and St Cuthbert’s policies.• Reviewing income and expenditure, taking action to ensure that community fundraising income reaches the targets set.• Maintaining accurate and up to date records of supporters and fundraising activities on Donorflex (the fundraising database).• Developing and producing marketing materials for individuals, community groups, schools, etc.• Working with the Communications Coordinator to generate press coverage, setting up photo calls and cheque presentations.• Promoting the Hospice through social media channels.• Raising awareness of the Hospice and its services in the local area. • Representing the Hospice for public speaking, receipt of donations, networking events, community events and others when required.
