  During my PhD project in the lab of Prof. Magdalena Götz, I investigated the synaptic integration of transplanted fetal neuronal cells into different (cortical) brain environments, such as the injured (traumatic brain injury TBI), aged, or Alzheimer-diseased parenchyma. By using a rabies virus-based tracing method, I was able to analyze the brain-wide synaptic connections of host neurons to transplanted neurons in those different environments.
