      Joined the Navy as a Trainee Aircraft Engineer and during time served passed all training and exams to become a qualified aircraft engineer responsible for maintenance and repair on Merlin and Sea King Mk 4 Helicopters. Involved in various Royal Navy operations and exercises in America, Canada, Europe and the British Isles; covering a variation of roles. Experienced with the assembly, instrumentation and maintenance of Rolls Royce engines; particularly the Gnome Gas Turbine Engine and the Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322.Key Responsibilities:- Signing off Aircraft as safe and serviceable to be flown.- Acting as a referral point for less experienced members to show them how to undertake and complete a task.- Experienced in delaying/re scheduling routine and non routine maintenance operations to balance operational requirements.- Extending on wing product life cycle in line with set extension parameters. Provide direct operational support service to the customer and independently carry out a variety of on-site technical tasks on a range of products with limited support. Using exacting instructions relating to tolerances, life cycles and serialisation details.- Using the latest tooling and engineering methods to support the engine build.- Identify issues with Assembly Control Record paperwork and follow through the process of correction, amendments or cancellations.- Attend progression meetings to give a verbal account of engine progress/issues identified.- Required to keep up to date with accreditations and airworthiness requirements set by EASA and the CAA.- Extensive use of Product Lifecycle management system and SAP.
