  Joined the Navy as a Trainee Aircraft Engineer and during time served passed all training and exams to become a qualified aircraft engineer responsible for maintenance and repair on Merlin and Sea King Mk 4 Helicopters. Involved in various Royal Navy operations and exercises in America, Canada, Europe and the British Isles; covering a variation of roles. Experienced with the assembly, instrumentation and maintenance of Rolls Royce engines; particularly the Gnome Gas Turbine Engine and the Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322.Key Responsibilities:- Signing off Aircraft as safe and serviceable to be flown.- Acting as a referral point for less experienced members to show them how to undertake and complete a task.- Experienced in delaying/re scheduling routine and non routine maintenance operations to balance operational requirements.- Extending on wing product life cycle in line with set extension parameters.   Lead a team of mechanics to ensure services are delivered meeting both customer requirements and expectations. Provide direct operational support service to the customer and independently carry out a variety of on-site technical tasks on a range of products with limited support. Take responsibility for ensuring that specific maintenance work scopes are professionally administered, whilst maintaining all relevant technical documentation in accordance with Airworthiness Regulation and maintaining appropriate levels of customer satisfaction.Principle Accountabilities:-Provide work direction, technical guidance and supervision to others within the field. Using exacting instructions relating to tolerances, life cycles and serialisation details.- Using the latest tooling and engineering methods to support the engine build.- Identify issues with Assembly Control Record paperwork and follow through the process of correction, amendments or cancellations.- Attend progression meetings to give a verbal account of engine progress/issues identified.- Required to keep up to date with accreditations and airworthiness requirements set by EASA and the CAA.- Extensive use of Product Lifecycle management system and SAP.
