  Technical writer

  Started as administrative assistant in this company, then became the president's assistant, and then promoted to the "new" position of technical writer. CLSI was one of the first in the library automation industry. Wrote hardware documentation for the end user (libraries), oversaw the running of a DEC PCP11 lab and provided support for the hardware designers.

  Technical writer

  Worked with the software development group that wrote early CAD/CAM applications for GTE. Also edited and proofread articles for inclusion in IEEE journals and the like.

  Technical writer

  Wrote, edited and published user manuals for the now-defunct academic computing center. This was back in the days of mark-up language, rather than text-formatting programs. Oversaw undergraduate work-study students.

  Edited newspaper copy; managed student employees; wrote, designed and laid out pages using InDesign. Also maintained subscribers database, put the newspaper on the Web, helped classified (yes, remember those?) advertisers create ads, placed the ads, and billed them.
