  Project Title: Analysis & Modification of LOCO Braking System.In the railway, the function of locomotives is to carry the coaches and wagons to their destination by developing power. It may be electric power or steam-generated power. But in our coke oven battery, the purpose of the loco is to carry the buckets of hot coke from the battery to the Coke Dry Cooling Plant (CDCP) for cooling of hot coke so that movement of the loco in the coke oven is a short distance, centering of the bucket is most important in the oven with Door Extractor (DE) guide as well as CDCP cooling chamber lifter, any change of misalignment in DE and lifter may cause major loss in the account of production. To make smooth production and to avoid time delays in centering, the braking system of locomotives should be perfect. If the braking system is given more problems and the availability of loco is less. So, we had gone for brake modification of the braking system in loco.Additionally, we have studied fire safety (Case Study).The function of the Fire Fighting System is to carry the safety of fire accidents and where the fire hazard is comparatively high. But in our Coal Preparation Plant, Coke Sorting Plant, CDCP, Battery. These are the main zones. The system should also be capable of putting out the fire by means of Fire Fighting Pumps, Sprinklers, Booster Pump, and Fire Hydrants and provides the visual status of the plant. As the plant consists of many processes involving high temperatures and many chances for fire accidents. So, this system was installed in the individual plants and is interlinked. Show less
