I am a qualified Kindergarten teacher working with 5 year old students.I help students prepare for their futures by developing their social and academic skills for a strong, upward trajectory to college and beyond. We start with number skills and letter/sound identification. As an early childhood educator, I am also responsible for teaching social skills and nurturing their social/emotional development. I have many years of experience working with children in nursery and pre-schools. Creating engaging lesson plans that teach both fine and gross motor skills which are necessary for proper development and future academic success. Establishing a foundation of kindness and curiosity in their learning is the key to ownership of their own education. ~.~ Show less As an assistant teacher, I have helped the lead teacher deliver a lesson or as in most cases, worked one-on-one with individual students per their IEP or teacher's requests.Assignments varied from feeding infants or changing diapers of wheel-chair bound students to translating English lessons to Spanish-speaking students or tutoring 9th grade math students.All-in-all worthwhile and rewarding experiences with every child. During the last three years, I have assisted high school students and teachers in math, social studies, ELA and physics. In 2014-15, I added cycling coach to my experience and completed a century ride with 11 of our students and 40 students from 3 other NYC Public high schools. As noted above, I am a certified teacher, however, seeking a ECH classroom. Show less
