      RESPONSIBILITIES • Project managed the delivery and collection of Census forms in Central Wellington. • Employed and trained 15 collectors, monitored and reported their progress, and provided logistical where needed. • Effectively worked around ‘problem’ dwellings, such as non-private dwellings, apartment buildings, and rough-sleepers. This involved significant engagement and public awareness work with community groups such as the Wellington City Mission, Age Concern and property management organisations. • Was part of a team of 18 District Supervisors in Wellington City. Assisted with the setup, day-to-day running, and closing of a temporary Census office. • Some media and public relations work.       Responsibilities▪ Lead government official for all COVID-19 Modelling, including:o Establishing analysis methods and analytical frameworks for COVID-19 related data, data products, and modelling, enabling decision making at an operational and strategic levelo Regularly briefing the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers both face-to-face and through written updates.o Providing data and analytical advice and support to the DPMC COVID-19 Group;o Translating modelling and COVID-19 surveillance data into information driven policy positions to enable outcomes.Achievements▪ Developed, built, and refined semi-automated reporting tools using structured and unstructured data to enable near real-time evidence-based decision making. This reporting is widely used by decision makers to understand correlations between the pandemic trajectory and demand on healthcare services, for example.▪ Established analytical frameworks and comparator methodology to assess the validity of mission-critical pandemic modelling that feeds into operational decisions such as traffic light settings, and strategic decisions such as border settings. These are now used across cabinet level decision making, as well as across multiple agencies.▪ Managed and provided guidance for a suite of stakeholders and enabled cross agency data sharing, brokering of new data and analysis and their demands for modelling and data support. This included stakeholders outside of government, such as Māori health advocates, independent advisory groups, expert academic data scientists, and commercial entities such as ESR.▪ Championed a change in culture among external experts and internal data scientists and officials to enable quicker responses to a dynamic set of demands from cabinet.
