  On average, I devote 30-40 hours per week to practice, conditioning, travel and tournament, team meetings, and study hall. As a third year representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), I voice team and university NCAA rules and regulations concerns, attend monthly meetings with fellow athletes and department members, and organize weekly service events with and fundraisers for local organization. I have been enrolled in a full academic course load and maintained a competitive GPA for 5 consecutive semesters, resulting in bestowment of the 4.0 and Scholar Athlete Award, in addition to appearance on the university Dean’s List.   As a fall intern, I promoted the online database to former and current collegiate athletes. From meeting with higher athletic authority to branding myself and the company on social media, the overall goal is to increase awareness and the amount of members. Athlete Network is a virtual platform where competitive athletes have the ability to connect with peers and potential employers, read current news articles, share upcoming local or athletic events, and find challenging, yet rewarding careers.   Selected to participate in Nestle USA’s Diversity Leadership Symposium among 100+ applicants, I participated in resume building, customized leadership skill development sessions, and interviewing workshops with members of the recruiting team. As a team of six, I participated in a case study, developing strategic solutions for the Nestle USA sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance divisions to address the listeria challenges of the Blue Bunny ice cream division.   Flyer Investment Fund Portfolio Manager

  The Flyer Investments Fund is a completely student-run organization at the University of Dayton, composed of lead analysts and portfolio managers. The team which manages the portfolio, valued at approximately $25,648,614, looks to generate alpha against a custom benchmark comprised of both stocks and bonds. To this end, the team selects from a wide variety of asset classes, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds and individual securities. As a member of the healthcare sector, I maintained up to date knowledge on relevant companies and the industry, pitched companies that would increase long-term value of the fund, created financial models (DCFs), and voted on sell and buy pitches by other fund members.   The Dayton community has three pitfalls in entrepreneurship: 1) Students are not starting companies, 2) Students are not aware of community resources, and 3) There is a separation among departments at the University of Dayton. Responsibilities of the Communications Coordinator include creating and nurturing relationships with various outside companies, organizations, and individuals that would be beneficial for the event. Skills for this role entail strong organization, event planning, professional written and verbal communication. For this event, I developed a website accompanied by a registration form and registration tracking app, contacted keynote and dialogue speakers, and created advocating flyers/pamphlets. Show less
