  I was mentored by several retired SCE managers/planners including Frank Ogle and Bill McNeil and learned to draft and design SCE applicant designs with an emphasis on SFR tracts. In 2000 I left to work for Herman Weissker, Inc., but was invited back to West Coast in 2002 as a Design manager. I was then introduced and mentored by Tony Smeerdyk - PE & retired SCE engineer and planning supervisor. My design experience grew to MFR projects, large backbones and Master Planned communities for large developers that included SunCal. I also learned to design large scale three phase commercial projects. Show less

  My initial design drafting responsibilities included working for Tom Taylor of SCE drafting base maps from hard blue prints and field visits. As an SCE contract design draftsman, I worked closely with, and was mentored by, many retired SCE planners and managers to work on SCE contractor designs that included Rule 20, Rule 15 & Rule 16 commercial designs. I also had the opportunity to participate in fielding large distribution projects; a hands-on experience that was beyond educational. With the experience I gained at Herman Weissker, West Coast Utility Services asked me to come back to design their SunCal Master Community SCE projects. Show less
