      My role involved working across thematic teams to help find solutions that facilitated the integration of conservation concerns in development planning. Unsystematic urban expansions, land-use change, natural habitat fragmentation, climate adaptation, etc. were my areas of focus and interest. India with high urban growth is experiencing a rapid change in its land use, often leading to forest fragmentation and natural habitat destruction. The work profile gave me an opportunity to work for integrating conservation concerns such as protection of natural habitat into urban planning processes. This profile gave me an opportunity to develop a tourism policy compendium, it involved a detailed analysis of state wise tourism and eco-tourism policies. This analysis also included national level policies and specific eco-tourism plans of some of the key protected areas. The objective was to understand the tourism milieu at the policy level.
