  I joined Janashakthi Insurance as a Data Entry Operator and in three months my duties were changed and advanced to work as a Front Office Underwriter. I learned my A, B, C in General Insurance at Janashakthi and gained very good experience in dealing with customers in face-to-face encounters which helped a lot in my position at AIA. With my good record as a Front Office Underwriter, the management decided to expand my duties by promoting me as a Branch Handling Officer. It was my duty to overlook the work of the underwriting staff of 05 branches in Western Province. It was a very good opportunity where I got a very good experience in working with people and underwriting General Insurance policies. Show less

  AIA is the turning point that changed my whole career. It opened me up to many challenges which I could face and successfully overcome. During my tenure at AIA I was promoted once and awarded 2 times consecutively with Living Operating Principals Award at the annual company conference and 4 times with rainbow cards which is an onsite rewarding system for a job well done. I was initially assigned to handle marine claims and then my duties were expanded in to Property & Engineering Insurance claims as well. I had to communicate with local and overseas clients, service providers and colleagues within AIA. I gained a lot of my knowledge in General Insurance during my stay at AIA. Show less

  In August 2016 I have decided to gain experience in Marine Cargo Inspections by working for several local insurance companies as a freelance cargo surveyor. It was a very good opportunity to gain experience in managing a business, people, and business relationships. During my work as a freelance surveyor, I was able to learn a good deal about myself and my weaknesses and how to face them.
