  I was stationed on the USCGC Conifer. We were an Aids to Navigation unit with an operating range of the Southern half of California. I was on the two person Fire Investigation team while on board. I was certified in port and underway oiler of the watch. I was also a certified small boat engineer. I had passed the military requirements for up to E-7 to prepare for advancement. While on board the Conifer, I advanced to E-3 and was accepted to the Electricians Mate Striker program before attending school.I attended the USCG Electricians Mate "A" school in Yorktown, Virginia.
