  Combat medic specialist

  As the senior line medic for Bravo Battery 2-319th, 82nd Airborne Division I managed the medical needs of a 60 person artillery battery, in both stateside and deployed environments. From managing daily medications and monitoring our medical supply to assisting the forward surgical team with triage and treatment I maintained a technical supervisor role that taught me leadership and communication skills that can be applied in the most unpredictable circumstances.

  Mountain safety

  As a mountain safety employee I managed traffic on Keystone's most populated trails, enforced skier safety regulations, and interacted with guests in a multitude of capacities. I was regularly involved in high tension guest interactions as they typically came after collisions, inappropriate behavior, or rule violations from guests. I was able to apply high stress communication techniques I learned from the military while simultaneously building and testing conflict resolution skills.

  While attending school I've worked part time at the office of Veteran and Military Affairs at the University of Colorado. I process and submit paperwork that pertains to veteran's, or their dependent's, education benefits. Using Microsoft Excel, CU-SIS (CU's internal student information system), and VA Once (a website built for accessing the VA certifications database) I bridge the gaps between CU, the VA, and the student. When not using these systems I am answering student's questions about their benefits, academics, or paperwork needed by the VA. Show less
