  Lead Smoking in pregnancy coordinator

  Coordinate the smoking in pregnancy team, ongoing development of the program, train all midwives in BI as part of their mandatory training, train HV teams and GetSet services, liaise with partners to ensure a ridged referral system and data recording accuracy, line manage the team and support women to quit smoking whilst pregnant. I also lead on the pregnancy projects for Solutions4Health across the UK and have recently completed the UK Public Health Practitioners registration.

  In April 2017 the Stop Smoking Service was moved “In House” to the Local Authority. My role continues as a Team Leader of five staff, but the role has evolved, and I have a greater range of Line Management responsibilities, to include HR related issues such as recruitment and disciplinary procedures and budget holding. I have also formed part of the Maternity and Neonatal Safety Collaborative Local Learning System to look at ways we can work in partnership with services in other areas in the Southwest to reduce smoking at time of delivery and the Antenatal care offer to look at ways we can engage more women in all aspects of their maternity care including smoking in pregnancy. I lead as the link between our database providers and our service providing all data for our commissioning team as required and complete all data for caseload audits.
