  Using cooperative learning and direct instruction strategies, I created and implemented a curriculum for 5th and 6th graders on sex education, HIV/AIDS prevention, and leadership development. Due to its success, the program was adopted by the Health Program and was used by other volunteers. Fulfilling a passion of mine, I promoted literacy by creating three new libraries for children and adolescents.

  I utilize specialized literacy training to provide intensive reading intervention to children with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. In addition to these reading services, I provide instruction in reading comprehension, study skills, and writing. I assess students and maintain close contact with parents and teachers in order to provide them with updates on academic progress and strategies for assisting their child. In the past, I have provided assistance to a local private school through training sessions on working with children with language-based learning differences. Show less

  I was hired by North Cross to help them in the development of a new program for elementary and middle school students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Collaborating with teachers and administration, we designed and implemented the new program. I provided both literacy training to the program’s director and specialized instruction to students.

  I was responsible for implementing the Classical Conversations Challenge A curriculum, based on the classical Christian model of education, and provided guidance and feedback to students and parents in the homeschool co-op setting. I provided instruction in Henle Latin, cartography, the Lost Tools of Writing curriculum, natural science and anatomy, Saxon 8/7 math curriculum, and rhetoric.
