Provides patients with proper care, and compassion and maintains their dignity. Completes rounds to make sure patients and visitors are comfortable, safe, and clean during their stay. Receives and gives a report of shift change with pertinent information that the shift will need to know. Reports change in condition to nurse and charge nurse.   Maintained a log of tow and petty cash, released tow releases to the registered owner and valid driver after receiving proper paperwork. Checked traffic tickets based on offense, if a court appearance was required or not, and made sure the court date was correct based on traffic court dates. Maintained confidentiality of records and disposed of them properly based on the record retention policy. Created Purchase Order forms, kept them in a log, and handed them to the village fiscal officer. Downloaded body camera footage, assigned them to the correct case, and provided the footage to the court if needed. Attended a meeting with the Honorable Kevin T. Poland to obtain an arrest warrant. Took non-emergency phone calls directly called to the department by residents, law offices, local courts, and other police departments. Rode along with an officer or the chief and witnessed many traffic stops, calls for service, and self-initiated business checks. Interacted with the residents of Windham in a professional manner through events, and self-initiated interactions with the officers during ride-along. Went through the local schools with the School Resource Officer and interacted with staff. Assisted in finding emergency housing for a tenant who was losing her lease. Analyzed problems, identified solutions, and made decisions with the officer when allowed. Entered the schedule into Homebase Scheduling prior to the new month. Helped with the yearly Easter egg hunt.I learned a lot in this experience and was very grateful I reached out to the department for an internship and they selected me as their first intern. Criminal procedure and laws were some things I was very interested in during the experience. Made great professional connections with the officers, chief, and Streetsboro Police Department who dispatches for Windham. Show less

Assured confidentiality of information and communicated using TAC computer-aided dispatch. Entered temporary protection orders, missing juveniles, and missing persons. Entered and cleared warrants.
