  Mark joined KPMG as a Manager in the Risk Advisory practice after 30+ years in financial services in internal audit and regulatory compliance. Mark’s background includes internal audit management and quality assurance, and compliance management in the financial services industry. He is a Certified Bank Auditor, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager.Professional and industry experienceMark’s recent experience includes internal audits of GLBA and Add-On products for non-bank financial institutions, and leading/performing regulatory and procedural gap analysis and compliance risk assessments for large bank and non-bank financial institutions in the U.S. and Canada. During his career in financial services, Mark has developed and implemented effective compliance programs in banks and a card issuer, led professional practices in a bank internal audit function, and served as a bank chief compliance officer. His experience as a line of business compliance officer for a large card issuer provided him the opportunity to excel in developing a "ground floor up" compliance program in Asia. Mark also served as a compliance expert in developing an effective, CFPB oriented complaint management program for a large financial services firm. Mark has provided advisory support for OCC and CFPB examinations and has worked closely with the American Bankers Association on multiple fronts. He developed and taught the Credit Card curriculum for the ABA’s National Compliance School, served as a planning committee member for the ABA’s National Compliance Conference, and was a Fair Lending panelist at that Conference.
