It was interesting as this experience gave me a outlook on how was it in the industry. This experience benefitted me a lot as I got to form relations and relate to the teachers in the centre. I also got to be aware of work ethics and how to skillfully interact with parents.

  I created DAP materials for a new preschool; made use of my knowledge and skills from the modules during my course of study and build learning area corners for playgroup - kindergarten children. Created an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable environment for the children that are enrolled into the school. Moreover, I had the chance to mingle and connect with educators that were building the new school. From the networking, I picked up certain hidden norms in the industry that I feel that i ought to know, in order to work well with other teachers. Hence, I am grateful for this opportunity.   An enjoyable 1 month internship during my 2nd Year of study at ChildFirst. I got to implement different lessons such as Music & Movement, Aesthetic and Creative Expression, Math & Physical Development. Apart from these domains of development, most importantly, i gained experience in observing and analysing the children. Which i think it is really crucial as it helps us (educators) find out the needs of the children. Since it was near the end of the year, I got to help them in their graduation concert (N2). E.g. preparing them for performance, practicing steps with them etc. I played a crucial role in helping the children adapt to their nervousness as the main teacher was away, hence I had the responsibility to be in charge of the class, as a main teacher. I was glad that I got this opportunity as it helped me adapt to situations and experience the authentic feeling of being the main teacher. Show less

  An enriching 6 months internship with PCF company where I gained valuable experiences. I was a responsible team player and a passionate aspiring educator who wants to teach young children about the world that they are new to. Events: 1. Sports DayFacilitated some games for the class I was in-charged of. Oversee the safety of the children and was professionally conversing with the parents. 2. Field Trip to Science Centre Oversee the safety of the children during the trip. I also conducted a post activity lesson as I thought the children could extend their learning back to the classroom. 3. June Holiday (LRT Project) I worked together with the teachers in the class about 'Transportation' and shared with the children about different transportation. The children got to go on a short field trip to take the LRT. Show less
