    • United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB)

      Feb 2013 - Jun 2013
      Bank Assistant

Before I started university and after receiving my GCE A Levels results, I worked in the Card Operations Processing Centre (COPC) processing credit and debit card applications daily for almost 6 months. Some entries are physical application forms at retail branches all over Singapore and the rest are online applications. It was my first time working in an office environment and experienced for myself some classic 'office' moments I've had only seen on television - the gathering at the water cooler, the tension that is always there between some colleagues, the favouritism the boss shows etc. It was an experience, but mostly I was just glad to earn some money while waiting to matriculate at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in August that year. • Inoue Seikoen

      Jan 2016 - Apr 2016
      Marketing Consultant

For my Honours for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), I had to do a Field Service Project with an actual operating company with my peers.Inoue Seikoen is a skincare company from a small prefecture in Japan and wanted to break into the Singapore market. As student consultants, we advised the sales team by doing the relevant customer profiling of the local target audience, researching on different sales channels and evaluating the best advertising and branding strategy for the company. We did both primary research by doing surveys and focus group discussions, as well as secondary research by analyzing insights and reports found online. We also helped the company choose the final location of their first physical store in Singapore which was at Ngee Ann City. All these findings and suggestions were compiled into a report and a final presentation was made to the top management of the company who flew into Singapore to meet us. • Yamato Transport (S) Pte Ltd

      May 2016 - Aug 2016
      Corporate Strategy Intern

For my first internship as an undergraduate, I applied for the Summer Internship Programme offered by Yamato Transport Singapore only for NUS undergraduates. There were more than 50 applicants and only 2 were chosen to be on this programme that came with the possiblity of a full-time job offer upon graduation. The key project assigned to the interns that year was a market research project on the C2C market in Singapore and its possible delivery solutions. We were assigned to be directly mentored by the Chief Operating Officer who was the only Singaporean in top management. The internship then culminated in a report and presentation to the entire board of management based in Singapore comprising of all Japanese men except the COO who is a Singaporean man.Key Achievements:• Assessed feasibility for Yamato Transport and its courier service TA-Q-BIN to enter the C2C market and the solutions which was then presented to the Managing Director and top management • Developed a service blueprint for TA-Q-BIN business division to highlight pertinent customer touchpoints for the Singapore market• Assisted in the research and implementation of an Urban Logistics Programe for In-Mall Distribution, a Smart Nation government initiative, at various shopping malls such as Jurong Point Loading Bay to boost last-mile delivery for shopping mall retailers Show less

    • Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.

      Aug 2016 - Dec 2016
      Sales and Marketing Operations Intern

In what was supposed to be my 3rd year in university, I interned with a company in an industry I was excited about - hospitality. It was a 6-month long internship and I had to take a leave of absence from school for a semester and so I did, going to office every day while my peers started their 3rd year of Business School. In summary, it was a dramatic time to be at Starwood. The company just got purchased by Marriott to become the world's largest hospitality company with over 1 million rooms worldwide. Though Marriott was a bigger global company then, Starwood had the upper-hand in footprint in Asia Pacific.I had 2 roles and 2 bosses - Sales Operations & B2B Marketing, both reporting to the Vice President of Sales. I liked that B2B Marketing was separated and distinct from B2C which was an entire other department on its own, and that B2B Marketing was classified as sales.Sales Operations:• Assist with sales automation by generating data from sales systems to input onto new interface for goal-setting for 1000+ APAC sales representativesB2B Marketing:• Client-side work (creative conceptualisation, copywriting and media) with advertising agencies for campaigns of Starwood's B2B loyalty programme, SPG Pro • Coordination with DOSM of 371 Starwood hotels across 11 brands in APAC and Greater China's sales representatives with whom I delivered my briefings in Mandarin• Content Marketing for Indian Destination Weddings with various departments and agencies• Development of press kits for new SPG Pro campaigns for personal deliveries to PR agencies and trade partners• Ad-hoc presentation deck creation for VP of Sales during merger of Starwood and Marriott• Worked on a key project independently on B2B Marketing in hotels to substantiate retaining B2B Loyalty Marketing Programme post-merger Show less

This was in conjunction with the WTA Finals that was held in Singapore from 2014 to 2018, and I was chosen for the year of 2017.
