  I have been awarded a bursary from AREVA Resources Namibia to complete a Bachelor Degree of Mining Engineering at the University of Pretoria. Vacation work at the Trekkopje Uranium Mine. This included spending a total of seven weeks on site, for the purpose of learning about the Trekkopje operation as a whole. One week, undergoing safety induction, one week with the Surveying Department, one week with the Geology Department, half a week with the Drilling and Blasting Department, and three and a half weeks with the Metallurgical Department.

  I worked on delay analysis on a new mining method at the McClean Lake Uranium Mine for a period of almost two months. The method is called Surface Access Borehole Resource Extraction (SABRE) . This included spending just over two weeks at the mine site and almost five weeks in the Saskatoon Engineering and Projects office, working on prefeasibility work for the SABRE Mining Method. The work I completed aided in the the development of SABRE. I based my undergraduate research and dissertation on the above mentioned project at McClean Lake Mine, which I passed with distinction.   My role as PQEL is to implement effective Product Quality Management (PQM) at country level for the purpose of strengthening operational product quality performance across the supply chain and thereby ensuring consistent delivery of cost effective and fit for purpose products that meet our promises on quality and performance. To provide the product quality advice and support to Supply, Distribution, Retail and Commercial businesses. To coordinate with other sales support functions and contribute to the development, implementation and especially the effective delivery of the Class of Business Customer Value Propositions within the Operating Unit-Assist with product quality incident investigations-Monitoring and implementation of correct dosing procedure for differentiated fuels-Implementation of a Mobile Quality Van to strengthen VEN’s quality assurance processes within the retail and commercial network.-Implementation of the Shell Quality Kit at all Shell branded retail sites, to improve VEN’s quality assurance process and ensure that customer receive the highest quality of fuels-Successful implementation of VEN’s ISO 9001:2015 compliant Quality Management System, which is currently being reviewed by the Namibia Standards Institute for certification-Successful project implementation alongside marketing, for the launch of a new differentiated diesel, called Shell FuelSave Diesel, with Dynaflex Technology.-Training of staff and customers on VEN quality assurance practices and on industry best practices to improve their operations.
