Dec 2011 - Dec 2013I have been awarded a bursary from AREVA Resources Namibia to complete a Bachelor Degree of Mining Engineering at the University of Pretoria. Vacation work at the Trekkopje Uranium Mine. This included spending a total of seven weeks on site, for the purpose of learning about the Trekkopje operation as a whole. One week, undergoing safety induction, one week with the Surveying Department, one week with the Geology Department, half a week with the Drilling and Blasting Department, and three and a half weeks with the Metallurgical Department.

Dec 2012 - Jan 2013Vacation work studentI worked on delay analysis on a new mining method at the McClean Lake Uranium Mine for a period of almost two months. The method is called Surface Access Borehole Resource Extraction (SABRE) . This included spending just over two weeks at the mine site and almost five weeks in the Saskatoon Engineering and Projects office, working on prefeasibility work for the SABRE Mining Method. The work I completed aided in the the development of SABRE. I based my undergraduate research and dissertation on the above mentioned project at McClean Lake Mine, which I passed with distinction.
