  From April 2013, I initiated the design for the Langendorff model based on several literatures under the guide of Dr. Azadani for my Masters Thesis. The current goal is an experimental validation study in which fresh preserved porcine heart is to be resuscitated towards near-physiological conditions after 1-2 hour ischemic time. The research encompasses varied tasks of different disciplines such as the following: looking through literature such as the buffer preparation, networking and seeking advice from authors of the literature as well as cardiac surgeons and heart transplant administrators, field work of collecting the porcine heart, and drug delivery and pacing while testing. Research includes comparisons in both Langendorff vs. working heart model as well as cardioprotective buffers, ordering equipment and pharmaceuticals, system design, organ/heart preservation, water quality, modified buffer preparation to exactly pH 7.4.Future goals include testing heart valves on the beating resuscitated porcine heart, testing medical devices as well as testing on human heart both from University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus.
