  With WorkStreams, I was first part of the Job Readiness Program, and helped to facilitate workshops for clients who were receiving Income Assistance. Along with the workshops centred around building personal awareness and job search skills, this position also involved conducting intake interviews; determining program acceptance or outside referrals; and arranging and monitoring work site placements. I also enjoyed working in The Career Shop, a high volume drop in resource centre for youth. I forged productive working relationships with a very diverse clientele including street-involved youth, students, First Nations youth, and individuals dealing with addictions, trauma, and crisis.   I have been honoured to work with Dawn Schell, delivering energizing seminars, retreats and workshops throughout Vancouver Island. With a focus on team building and communication, our audiences have included municipal employees, health care workers, non-profit groups, and school staff and administration. Participants of our workshops have been known to spontaneously begin enjoying their work again, as well as the people they work with. Participants of the program were unemployed and underemployed women over the age of 30; and I enjoyed working with them to teach the basics of solid resume and cover letter writing, networking, and information interviewing.
