As one of the largest medical school in the United States, IU School of Medicine offers high-quality medical education, access to leading medical research and rich campus life in nine different Indiana cities, including rural and urban locations consistently recognized for livability.Facilitated strategic and daily clinical activities as related to hospital systems and surgical services to: Clarian/ IU Health, IU Hospital, Riley Children’s Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Clarian West and North facilities, Saxony Hospital, Wishard/ Eskenazi Health, VSN 11 VAMC, and three Level I Trauma Centers.VAMC- negotiated revised contracts for physician payment. Developed and designed a new Plastic Surgery Clinic and outpatient surgical facility. Facilitated the development of an “Awake” hand surgery program, which has eliminated extended wait times and access to ambulatory surgery.Revised the inter-local contract with Wishard, (now Eskenazi )Health Care with expansion of funding for surgical coverage, improving quality and sustained increase in revenue to surgical providers in excess of $6 million per year. IU Health boasts over 136,000 admissions, 2.6 million outpatient visits, with nearly 30,000 employees & over 2,000 employed physicians. Ranked 17 years running in US New & World Report, IU Health is ranked in 11 adult specialties & 9 pediatric specialties.The IU Health System level Collaborative effort is designed to foster synergy, reducing administrative and clinical practice variance. The program is designed to maximize vertical and horizontal unification across business units, integrating the facilities and including: budgeting, policies, practices, benchmarks, supply and purchasing. A core challenge is to foster innovative improvements to the patient, staff and provider environments. Work closely with the School of Medicine in support of its expanding educational vision.Led IU Health to be the only system with two of its peri-operative programs (IU Hospital and Ball Memorial) in the UHC top 10.Revised and implemented new Physician Engaged Materials Management Program to review all active and proposed clinical care products to gain the best market price point and ensure the best for patient care. Resulted in cost reductions of over $60 million annually.Developed and implemented a unique Pre-Surgical Wellness and Immunonutrition program and PAT Process with ERAS elements across the System. Resulting in recovering a minimum of 2 days on LOS, reducing SSI and readmissions by over 50%. LOS reductions since 2012 total over 280,000 for the AHC with sustained improvements of over 75,000 per year. Show less
