My responsibilities changed between driving and teaching. When I was driving, I had to be extremely visualant and take extreme care. Safety was a vital part of my job as I had to be extremely careful of what was going on infront of me as well as what was going on with the skier behind me. I was also my job to be visulant of the weather conditions as it was my call to decided if it was safe to ski, both for the guests and for the staff. As the instructor, it was my job to teach new skills from the very basics of standing up for the first time, to jumping and doing tricks on a wakeboard. I had to make decisions of what was going to be best to do with each individual as they only had 15 minute slots. I had to be very good at deciding what they would benefit from in order to see improvement. I also had to be very calm for each guest as some people were incredibly nervous when it came to even getting in the water, before they even think about skiing! Probably one of my favourtie parts was when I got to teach little kids! This often meant I had to jump in the water with them to help them stablibise and stand up! I would hold them in between my legs, keep them stable and then stand up beside them, to take the strain off of them! The look on their faces was always so rewarding and they always wanted to come back for more! Show less

      Resort Manager

Having been appointed as ski ranger in the childcare team, after six weeks in resort I was promoted to Resort Manager, looking after all five Inghams and Esprit hotels in the Gressoney Valley.Duties included airport transfers, arranging representatives on the coaches, providing welcome packs for our guests, maintaining resort cashbook and the cash float for myself and the resort childcare manager. Leading the welcome meeting at each hotel in resort, managing guest complaints and enquiries, managing injuries and hospital transfers, ski hosting including arranging après ski events, meal bookings and skiing lessons. I also managed ski equipment sales, lesson sales and ski pass sales developing experience in cash handling and sales techniques.Promotion to resort manager gave me experience in management, hospitality and customer service as well as a great deal of cash handling and IT skills. I loved the challenges and the problem solving and had to learn to thrive under pressure. I was always on call doing this job and I was often complimented on how well I handled difficult situations as well as my presence and helpfulness in the hotel. I received positive feedback that I was always very attentive and quickly responded to complaints or queries. This job had a commission-based aspect and I had to promote meal evenings and après which gave me a great deal of practical sales experience. This job has given me a real passion for management.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijPC4ZcpECEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aF6zoESff94 Show less

    • Superyacht Events

      Sept 2015 - May 2016

As Events Coordinator, it’s my job to take control of an event from conception to clean up. I take care of logistics such as finding a suitable venue, taking care of all registrations, regularly updating the event website, coordinating with the editorial department to ensure there is enough coverage of the event and the programme manager to ensure we are getting unique speakers for panels and workshops that will contribute to a successful programme, ordering merchandise and branding and overseeing the design process, catering, entertainment, sticking to budgets, as well as organising any transportation, hiring A/V teams and equipment, and generally make sure that events run smoothly and efficiently and that I am prepared to handle any crisis that may come up. The job is full on and fast paced as well as exciting and rewarding. Events that I have been involved in the planning of so far include Global Superyacht Forum in Amsterdam which saw over 600 delegates attend, VIP Lounge at Monaco Yacht Show which is for captains and owners from the Superyacht Industry, Make Your Mark in London, a marketing event which saw 100 professions from a variety of luxury brands and I am currently Project Managing Superyacht Fiscal which will be held in Barcelona in April as well as taking care of the main partners for SuperyachtDESIGN Week which is held in June.I enjoy working under pressure and I work very well dealing with stress, which comes up a lot in the events industry. I won an award last year in our office for being the most promising new comer, as well as often being commented on for being the glue that holds the team together. I really enjoy the job and the team, however I just do not have the passion for Superyachts like I have for dinghies. Show less
