Providing mentoring, development, and people leadership to Divisional Managers, Assistant Divisional Managers and Youth Leaders in my area.Supporting youth divisions to develop and deliver a high quality programme, meet their goals and encourage engagement with competitions, leadership training, camps and other opportunities given to them.Support the planning and delivery of district level events, including implementing new district-wide competition training sessions to allow cadets to interact as a district and learn new first aid skills. Show less My involvement in the St John Youth programme as a cadet has been between Taupo & Tauranga.During my time as a cadet, I participated in leadership trainings to obtain the roles of Cadet Corporal and Cadet Sergeant. These leadership positions came with added responsibilities, such as planning and teaching lessons to younger cadets, assisting in running weekly meet ups, and helping at camps/competitions.I completed badges on a range of topics, including First Aid, Drill and Communication. Through the completion of twelve badges and 100 hours of community service, I was awarded the Grand Prior's Award.Through the programme, I was able to complete a high level of first aid training. These skills were tested at district, regional and national level competitions. The competitions consisted of trauma/first aid tests, nursing skills test, communications assessment and a drill (marching) test. From this training, I was also fortunate to be allowed to work alongside ambulance crews at various large events go provide first aid to the public as a cadet. Show less

      Foundation pharmacist - rotational

Rotations I have completed so far include:Aseptic Production Unit - utilising the skills I gained at Waikato Hospital in their Cytotoxic Compounding Unit, I was able to quickly get up to speed and work efficiently within the unit team. I was given opportunities to take on further responsibility in the absence of senior staff, and by the end of my time, was able to work to a high level coordinating the unit's workflow.Dispensary - Joined the inpatient dispensary team for 3 months, to assist with inpatient dispensary work including clinical screening and dispensing. Managed the supply of intravenous monoclonal antibodies for Gastroenterology and Multiple Sclerosis patients, including implementing changes to procedures to ensure efficiency, education to incoming dispensary pharmacists, and updating the dispensary screening guide for these medicines.Haematology & Oncology - Building on my previous experience in this area, I spent six months working in both inpatient and outpatient cancer services. Starting with inpatient services, I completed the chemotherapy clinical screening training, allowing me to screen chemotherapy for both oncology and haemtology patients. This included managing outpatient dispensing of lenalidomide/thalidomide/pomalidomide for approximately 100 patients across the greater Wellington region, managing supplies and manufacturing of compassionate chemotherapy agents, medication queries, producing new chemotherapy charts and manufacturing worksheets and general coordination of screening workflow in the absence of senior staff.ICU - currently 2 months into a 6 month rotation through Wellington Hospital ICU. Working through a rigorous training programme, including readings, case discussions and participating in ward rounds and meetings. On Call - currently participating in the on call roster on a regular basis.
