Jun 2005 - Jan 2008I carried out design calculations for irrigation, potable water, sewage, stormwater pump stations, and sewage treatment plants facilities including HVAC, fire protection, sanitary drainage and water supply (plumbing). I also researched and evaluated equipment options including life-cycle and facility costing using net present value techniques. In addition, I selected equipment, liaised with manufacturers and vendors, and prepared technical data documentation including databases, data sheets, material take-offs, bill of quantities, specifications and drawings (tender documents). I also performed inter-disciplinary design coordination and conflict resolution with infrastructure, utilities and roads teams. Moreover, I supervised Draftsmen to produce engineering drawings and conducted site visits with Project Managers, Contractors and Authority officials to carry out inspections, gather information and resolve operation and maintenance related issues. I produced reports, technical presentations, as well as planned and organized project tasks. PRESENTATIONS:I prepared and conducted technical presentations on Pump Stations design and on different disinfection methods used in STPs including: Chlorination agents, UV disinfection, Ozonization, micro filtration, ultra filtration and other alternatives. I discussed preferences and safety procedures.MAFRAQ WASTE WATER TREATMENT WORKS:I worked on many projects for the existing Mafraq WWTW including ‘Enhancement’, ‘Sequencing Batch Reactor Extension’, ‘Full Flow Diversion to Al Wathba STP’ and ‘MPS 17 Partial Flow Diversion to ICAD STP’. I collected samples/data through site visits, created futuristic flow forecasts, proposed suitable solutions, undertook designs with maintenance provisions and prepared tender documents.AL RAHBAH FARMS PUMP STATIONS (PHASE 1):I designed pump stations (for current and future flow) for lowering the groundwater table at Al Rahbah farms and prepared tender documents. Vis mindre MAFRAQ WWTW EXTENSION (PHASE 3):Design flow rate of 300,000 m3/day and had a budget of US $ 200 million. Collection, treatment and disposal of sanitary and industrial wastewater were among the major items addressed. I carried out preliminary costing including life-cycle and facility costing for equipment, liaised with suppliers for quotations, equipment selection and attended meetings. I completed the mechanical design, process selection, alternatives evaluation for the project’s facilities. I developed equipment data sheets, databases and compiled reports.INDUSTRIAL CITY ABU DHABI, INDUSTRIAL EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT (ICAD2 IETP):I designed, made equipment selection and prepared tender documents for plant facilities including: inlet distribution chamber, lift station, aeration tank distribution chamber, aeration tanks, secondary settling tanks distribution chamber, scum PS, chemical storage and dosing facilities and odor control system. I carried out life-cycle costing calculations for the odor control options.SAADIYAT ISLAND & SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT: I did the Concept, Preliminary and Detailed design for several pump stations, and various facilities of the STP including HVAC, fire protection, sanitary drainage and water supply (plumbing). I prepared data sheets and material take-offs for all equipment in the Sewage Treatment Plant (Headworks, oxidation ditch, secondary settling tanks and distribution chambers, intermediate lift station, Filter building, disinfection facilities, final effluent reservoir and pump station, RAS/SAS pump station, sludge dewatering facility, plant drain pump station, odor scrubber system and scum pump station). I calculated lifecycle and capital costs for STP process alternative evaluation (Oxidation ditch/ Sequencing batch reactor/ Membrane bio reactor). I also prepared tender documents.ABU DHABI INT'L AIRPORT:Reviewed Tender documentsJAFZA STP, DUBAI: Developed an equipment database.DUBAI LAGOONS: Reviewed SPS design. Vis mindre
