Forensic ChemistPreviously, I was employed for 23 years as a Forensic Chemist with experience in the area of trace evidence analysis (i.e. paint, glass, plastics cosmetics and condom lubricants to name a few). Casework examinations involved extensive microscopy as well as the operation of various instruments (PGC-MS, FT-IR, SEM-EDX, GRIM and XRD). Findings were interpreted, reports prepared and testimony was provided as an expert witness in all levels of court and in other public forums. Additional job duties entailed client training (police officers, crown attorneys, defense lawyers, and fire marshals) in the areas of proper collection and preservation of evidentiary materials as well as understanding the limitations of scientific results. I'm always continuously learning and I aquired my certification as a Resume Writer with PARW (The Professional Association of Résumé Writers & Career Coaches). I've developed a "knack" for assisting students write effective resumes over the years. I was able to apply my strong science background, along with my years in the workforce, and my strong attention to detail to assist individuals seeking a career in science-related fields create impactful resumes.Along with teaching duties, I also assisted with the monitoring of students throughout their 4 month unpaid internships.
