      My responsibilities as the Director of Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (2003-2009) were to advise the Minster of Youth and Sports on technical issues; oversee the implementation of national sports policy by the sports agencies (National Sports Council, the National Sports College and the National Sports Federations) under the Ministry and I acted as the liaison officer between the ministry, and for that matter Ghana and the United Nations office of Sport for Development and Peace, the African Union office for Sport, the Commonwealth Advisory Body on Sport and the Body of Sport Experts of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Show less

      As the Director of Sports at the University of Ghana from September 2009 to October, 2004, I was in charge of the day to day administration of the Sports Directorate (SD) and Chairman of the Management Committee (SD). I initiated sports policies of the university and supervised their implementation.Generally, I was in charge of a team responsible for pursuing the vision and mission of the university of Ghana through the medium of sport development, sport for development, fitness and wellness of students and staff of the university community, research into sport related matters and extension services.       WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DOBILD Ghana was established in 2010 through collaboration between the University of Ghana and UK Sport.BILD works by building and sharing knowledge developed in the UK and from around the world using the technical expertise, support and services of UK Sport and Youth Sport Trust of UK through which a sport leadership programme has been developed, adapted and owned by BILD Ghana.BILD Ghana rollout its training programme by working in partnership with Schools and Colleges, Sport Federations, Clubs, Universities, NGOs and other relevant partners.At the moment, BILD operates in seven (7) out of the ten (10) regions in Ghana. They are Ashanti, Central, Eastern, Greater Accra and Northern, and Upper West Regions. The training of trainers programme started with technical personnel from UK Sport. They trained local experts who graduated from Young Leaders, Local Tutors, Emerging Leaders and finally, Master Trainers.These Master Trainers now train Young Leaders and Local Tutors who in turn train Community Leaders and student Leaders in Schools and Colleges.Young Leaders in Schools have formed BILD Clubs and teach BILD values and principles through sporting and physical activities.
