Project title: the role of telomerase in the progression from cylindroma into spiradenomaFor this project, I was awarded a scholarship from the Wellcome Trust. The main technique used during the project was immunofluorescent staining and imaging. I also carried out TRAP assays and Western Blot procedures. During this summer project, I opted to take an addition 20 credit module (NCL3110 Vacation Research Project) in which you had to create and present a research poster to summarise your findings to a lay audience. My poster won first prize at a research event held at the Medical School. Show less

Project title: Comparison of the expression patterns of Pax9 and Sox9 During Mouse Craniofacial Development. The main technique used during this project was immunohistochemistry on embryonic murine preparations. I was also trained to use a Leica microtome and used PCR techniques to genotype said murine samples. For this project I wrote a 5000 word dissertation, which received an award for the highest mark achieved within the Dental School. During this project I demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills, as I ran several complex experiments to a deadline. Show less
