Thesis: The dual-fed metadistributed amplifier Supervisor: Prof. Carlos Camacho Peñalosa My Master Thesis evaluated the behaviour of the dual-fed distributed amplifier when the conventional artificial transmission lines are substituted by CRLH-TL (based on metamaterial concepts). The amplifier structure exhibit, under that condition, a band-pass behaviour that allows to extract maximum output power from the active devices for a given designable frequency.

Conclusions derived from the theoretical analysis were validated through the design, manufacture and measure of a CRLH-TL-based prototype, which demonstrate the viability of the power recycling distributed amplifier as an optimum class-A active power combiner with enhanced gain and excellent input match.       Working on radio frequency, microwave and millimetre-wave technologies. Recently, I finished my Ph.D. dissertation in new active power combining techniques in the field of distributed power amplification inspired by metamaterial concepts. Currently, I am working on the design of Doherty power amplifiers for mobile applications, active reconfigurable antennas for the microwave range and the research of RF transceivers for the new communication standards, 802.15.3c and 802.11.ad, for the 60 GHz frequency range, under projects: - Research work on correction and calibration techniques for ultrawideband RF circuits, 4-Green Project (Programa Feder-Interconecta), Agilent Technologies Spain, S.L. - Engineering metamaterials, Programa Consolider-Ingenio 2010, granted by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (CSD2008-00066, EMET). - Novel communication circuits based on metamaterials, granted by the regional government, Junta de Andalucía, Spain (P10-TIC-6883).
