      In-country coordinator

As in-country coordinator, I meet with local leaders and mayors of various communities of El Salvador in order to learn about woodworkers in need of training as well as in need of tools. I collect information about each woodworkers skills, needs and goals in order to create a profile of each one. That information is then forwarded to the Board of Directors; they then review and select trainees. Once this is done, I work the itinerary for Tools for Opportunity´s group and when approved, a travel date is set. It is my responsibility to coordinate and facilitate all the legal paperwork needed in El Salvador to get the shipment of tools through customs and arrive to their final destination for woodworking workshops. During training trips to El Salvador I serve as translator, photographer, tour guide, cultural liaison, and more. Show less
