      Health And Safety Manager

Developing, implementing, and administering WP Operations health and safety management program for their flag ship sand frac mine and the two associated trans load facilities located in the White Sand Belt of Wisconsin. Development and implementation have included programs like behavior-based safety, permit to work, working at heights, DROPs, and a visible felt leadership program with an integrated HSE auditing/inspection and safety key performance indicator component. The success of these programs has initiated the adoption at the parent company level. In this current position I have been able to assist the site management team in reducing regulatory citations by over 60%; this was achieved through the implementation of a visible felt leadership program. Through a tired implementation of the site’s behavior-based safety program the management team has experienced its longest run with out a reportable injury. Introducing new guidelines and standards has reduced the sites risk profile; for example: introducing a competent and authorized user working at heights program that includes certified competent trainers. Assisted the site in receiving the 2018 NIOSH Innovative Health and Safety Technology Award for sand and gravel on the use of dense phase conveying and the installation of an atomizing fogging system utilized when changing screens in the sites ROTEX equipment. Facilitation of the site’s new miner, annual refresher training, and trimester safety training events by developing new training material and arranging “blue card” MSHA certified trainer training for the front-line supervisors. Managing the sites regulatory compliance through gap analysis and internal integrated HSE auditing/inspections and record keeping. Administering the workers compensation program that includes post injury management as well as a non-occupational injury component. Performing industrial hygiene sampling that includes atmospheric and noise sampling. Show less
