  Lighting Designer recruited for a full-time position after completing co-op assignments while attending college. Oversaw consultants to ensure their compliance with standards for installing lighting in new, expanded and remodeled stores. •Directed projects from concept through final contract documentation.•Co-authored the corporate lighting manual and wrote a guidebook that provided strategies for implementing light pollution reduction methodologies.•Managed Six Sigma projects that produced cost savings from 8% to 90% for specific types of lighting.   •Selected to lead as project manager a multimillion-dollar project to add modern state-of-the-art technology in the existing distribution center in Delaware, Ohio (a major site expansion and one of the largest network strategy projects in the company’s logistics history). The choice was made based on diversity of experience, management skills, ability to work well with vendors and teams, and deliver to objectives. -Consulted with Financial Analysis, Transportation, Accounting, Management, Human Resources and other departments to determine accurate inputs for the overall IRR (Internal Rate of Return).-Gained capital approval and contract signatures needed to begin construction, restructured the schedule, and produced a detailed project design.-Supervised multiple project managers, and collaborated with IT, Facility Engineering, Operations, et al. to establish goals and timelines. •Led installation of a solar energy system for a large distribution center. Fully activated in the summer of 2019, it is expected to produce about 50% of the facility’s total energy needs.-Worked with Legal, Insurance and Facility Engineering to develop the contract governing this project.-Collaborated with Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, Tax and Finance/Accounting (as well as external groups) to manage each phase of the project. Delivered to expectations.•Assisted the project manager in the addition of Vitacost into the Mt Zion warehouse location. This involved review of the plans, including the architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing sets. Set standards for interior and exterior fixtures, and met lighting needs of in-store merchandisers. Ensured compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.•Led the movement from interior fluorescent to LED lighting to improve the IRR for new stores, expansions and remodels. •Directed an LED Trackhead Retrofit project in conjunction with multiple divisions. •Performed as SME (Subject Matter Expert) on a lighting bid that saved millions). Won the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award. •Managed retrofitting of existing LED fixtures and installation of new LED lighting for all Kroger fuel centers. Show less
