      I started my carrier as a G.E.T and I was given lots of responsibility from basic engineering to commissioning of various subsystems within the major in-house projects. The best was the opportunity to work with the French team in Chennai for Saint Gobain's first glass plant. My responsibility as a budding Project Engineer was1. Site execution, thorough supervision by daily planning and end-of-the-day reporting in the days of no computers2. Work by document – a discipline which even helps to date. I was responsible for drafting my own drawing.3. A full design of Air conditioning for the bonded abrasive-controlled room, where I followed ASHRAE guidelines and reduced the power consumption by 30% to the baseline which was a huge operational saving4. Involved in pick and place automation for coated disk plant and automated loading process for the raw material mixes for bonded abrasives.5. Concept to commissioning of Utilities like thermic fluid systems, boilers, water treatment plants and air conditioning.6. I was selected to be the person to manage the H&G India consultant for engineering the glass plant for utilities which involved nitrogen and hydrogen mixing.
