      Organized, prepared and led 20 handcart treks for over 2,000 youth. Skills: Management, Teamwork, Interpersonal Communication, Time-management, Emergency Response, Presentation, Youth Management, Volunteer Management, Safety TrainingAs the manager for the handcart trek program, I organized and implemented these physically demanding youth experiences that teach teamwork, faith, self-worth and history. In this position, I hired trail guides and historical characters as well as managed their schedules and time cards.Before I was promoted to this management position and while in this position, I also worked as technical support for all in-house productions, concerts and events, meaning I set-up sound, lighting and stage equipment. Throughout my time at the park, I also gave promotional tours of the park to dignitaries, businesses and everyday guests. I also acted as a first-person and third-person historical interpreter.(A handcart trek is a reenactment of the Mormon Pioneer's journey from the Midwest to Utah in the mid 1800s. Youth and leaders dress in pioneer attire and pull a handcart full of equipment for a number of miles experiencing a little of what the pioneers may have. Part of the week I had the great honor to give tours of Scottsdale's only National Historic Landmark, Taliesin West, which served as Wright's winter home and studio the last 20 years of his life. I took hundreds of guests through the property, a small portion of the more than 100,000 visitors from all over the world received annually. During the tour I shared the story of Taliesin West with insights into the life of Frank Lloyd Wright and his innovative design philosophies and principles. During my time at Taliesin West, I gave tours to V.I.P. guests including a Grammy Award winner, an Academy Award winner, foreign dignitaries and leaders in the arts and community.I also supported the development office of the foundation as the grant researcher and writer. The team seeks to raise funds to help us fulfill the Foundation's mission to: Preserve and steward Taliesin, Taliesin West, and the Taliesin Collections; Shape architecture and design at the highest level; Transform people's lives through the living experience of Frank Lloyd Wright's body of work.
