Sept 2005 - Jul 2007Managing DirectorDuring my final years of school, I established a clothing company with a team of 10 of my fellow classmates. I was the managing director, where my duties ranged from approving all designs and purchases, chairing meetings, managing the finances of the business, heading up the marketing and liaising with shareholders. We designed clothing apparel with an Olympic theme as the island hosted all of the sailing competitions for the 2012 Olympics and sold this online and to all teams participating in the games. Inspire 2 Independence (i2i)
Jan 2012 - Oct 2013Meeting with unemployed clients on the Work Programme aged 18-65, to enhance opportunities for finding sustainable paid work. Working for a company sub-contracted by Serco and the Department of Work and Pensions. I marketed a case-load of between 60-100 clients to prospective employers and arranged interviews and placements for them throughout the West Midlands. I enrolled hundreds of people onto and assisted in the running of courses designed to improve literacy/numeracy and IT standards, as well as focussed sessions on interview techniques, personal marketing and job hunting. I was the drugs and alcohol champion for my centre, as well as representing the company at a number of exhibitions and conferences nationally. I created session plans and was entirely responsible for all personal meetings, including using outlook, Excel and Salesforce (Impact) to book in, advise and find work for all customers assigned to me. I also dealt with sanctioning benefits of any clients who did not comply, through the Department of Work and Pensions. Here I was the top performer for most of the months spent working for i2i.
