  • Conducted research on polypropylene biodegradation by gut microbiome of T. molitor larvae.• Isolated 8 bacteria obtained from T. molitor larvae gut microbiome by utilizing selective growth medium.• Performed PP sheets biodegradation through fermentation with isolated bacteria strains as catalysts, while consistently sampling each day resulting in up to 38% polypropylene mass loss and 418% increase in bacterial concentration in minimum nutrition medium.• Implemented various molecular biology practices, such as microbe isolation and preservation (glycerol stock), DNA extraction, PCR sample preparation, and gel electrophoresis sample preparation. • Assessed results of biodegradation characterization such as FTIR spectroscopy, GC/MS analysis, GPC analysis, and SEM analysis.
