However, within the research process it became clear to Dr. Remy that not all revenue management applications are in fact revenue management practice; some industries simply borrow components of revenue management. Based on this analysis, Dr. Remy developed a new typology for revenue management which helps to understand revenue management applications in greater detail. Furthermore, he concluded that for-profit higher education establishments might not apply revenue management in full, but instead focus on elements of revenue management; specifically capacity utilisation and tuition discounting.
