Kyra women's project
Dec 2020 - nowDelivering a short-term project, funded by the North YorkshirePolice, Fire and Crime Commissioner and designed to align with the PFCC Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy. I am creating a series of Pathways through the support on offer within the charity to ensure that new members can access Kyra services and fully engage with the range of support on offer. The project will embed a new way of working within the organisation, I am designing and delivering training to team members on how to implement this, and also to create a series of built-in milestones and celebrations for members accessing these Pathways. We'll also shift focus to networking and engaging with various stakeholders and partner organisations to ensure they understand how this new process for enrolling as a member with Kyra Women's Project will change for any women they signpost to the service in future. Show less Managing Kyra's Route to Recovery Project, I provided 1:1 support for members who have experienced domestic abuse or mental ill health, helping them navigate a pathway of support course and activities at Kyra. I supported the volunteers who provided these activities, managed the overall programme of activities on offer, facilitated several of the courses and workshops, and monitored and reported progress on delivering outcomes to our project steering group. I produced internal evaluations annually, and I worked with an independent external evaluator to monitor performance against the project outcomes too. I've designed new activities to fill gaps and meet participant needs, including a series of workshops on 'Positive Thinking', 'Boundaries and Self-care', and 'Confidence and Assertiveness', and have worked strategically to embed learning from the project into wider organisational working practice, including helping develop several bids for additional funding to fully realise this ambition, to ensure future sustainability of the support on offer within the charity. In addition, I've been able to share our learning both as part of the York Festival of Ideas - delivering a talk on 'Routes to Recovery for women who have experienced trauma' in June 2022, and as part of Kyra's first professional conference held in September 2023 as part of the charity's 10th anniversary programme of events.
