  Research intern

  I interned for PhD candidate Nakia Cullain at her research lab in Zavora. I assisted in research dives, taking surveys of predatory fish, and using GoPro cameras to take IDs of reef manta rays (Mobular alfredi). We also conducted observational surveys on humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae). This was an incredible experience and project that I am very proud to have been a part of.

  I am excited to be collaborating with GNS Science for my thesis, investigating the marine plastic pollution’s spatial distribution and the effects of pollution phase-out scenarios and their policy implications. This research is intended to help inform the upcoming UN INC treaty on plastic pollution.

  I was a volunteer for the One Planet Young Leaders Programme, where I mapped and analysed local government climate strategies for several councils in the UK. This project will result in a publicly available resource connecting climate action across the UK, to be presented at COP28
