Curriculum is used by all incoming teachers teaching 7th grade math to remediate students in Dallas Independent School District during summer months. Competitively selected as one of roughly 5,200 out of 43,000 applicants to serve in a national service corps committed to teaching in low-socioeconomic communities and changing the landscape of the American education system.

      Served as the 7th and 8th grade math teacher, as well as 7th Grade Team Lead at Uplift Infinity Preparatory. As team lead, I support all 7th grade teachers campus-wide through an observation/check-in cycle, facilitate weekly meetings, and serve as the point person for academic and behavior concerns among the 7th grade. In the classroom, I lead and instruct over 140 scholars, plan daily lessons, foster and manage relationships with both scholars and parents, and create and implement a rigorous math curriculum resulting in roughly a 80% mastery of all objectives and a 40% achievement gap closure on state testing during the 2013-2014 school year.
