      Educational consultant

I conduct comprehensive dyslexia and language-based learning disability evaluations and academic progress monitoring evaluations. Dyslexia and language-based learning disability evaluations thoroughly assess skills and sub-skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and math, as well as a child’s cognitive abilities (IQ). I focus on providing families with specific recommendations tailored to their child’s learning profile so that valuable instructional time isn’t wasted and skill gaps can be closed as quickly as possible. Academic progress evaluations are ideal for students who already have a specific learning disability diagnosis and have received interventions through special education, response-to-intervention (RTI), or private tutoring. I assess a child’s current academic skills and sub-skills to compare results to previous assessments and available progress monitoring data. I provide families with a clear understanding of their child's progress to date, as well as specific feedback on the effectiveness of recent interventions. In addition, I offer consultation services to families. These include attendance at special education team meetings, follow-up consultations with providers, classroom/program observations, and assistance with school placement. Show less
