This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete five courses in their area of concentration as follows: Fiction Writing I or Creative Nonfiction Writing; Fiction Tutorial or Nonfiction Tutorial; two additional courses from the area of concentration; and one 10-session elective or two 5-session electives. The student must also write and/or revise a minimum of 50 pages of prose in the chosen area of concentration (the final project), which must be approved by the associate director of Humanities, Arts, and Writing.
