      MSF provides emergency aid and medical care around the world.I worked alongside district and country level epidemiology staff to line-list all reported cases of measles in order to direct, in real-time, one of the largest vaccination campaigns in MSF history. We created epidemiologic curves and maps by district and at country-level to report to MSF, MOH, and WHO. I also oversaw local staff to complete a post-vaccination coverage survey. I provided clinical oversight for a 40-bed adult isolation ward, inpatient unit at the regional referral hospital. Provided multi-drug resistant (MDR) TB treatment, as the only provider of the service in the country. Enrolled patients in a drug sensitivity testing study. Created and delivered the quarterly TB report at the zonal meeting. Covered night calls for the ward.

      The University of Ottawa supported The AIDS Support Organization (TASO) and Mildmay Uganda through operational research funding and supervision. These are two of the largest NGO-led HIV care providers in Africa.My role was to establish accreditation for research ethics committees, train staff in human research ethics, research design, data analysis plans, practical implementation and manuscript and report writing. Provide technical input for grant writing to NIH, CDC, CIDA and EDCTP. Principal investigator for a prevalence of disability among those with HIV study. Hire, train and oversee research assistants. Develop and ensure compliance with the budget. Oversee data analysis and write-up. Provide technical guidance to local Principal Investigators. Provide clinical services at HIV clinic, as well as assist with update of clinical guidelines for Mildmay Uganda. Show less
